Use these directions to make Spider Web Brownies for your Halloween party.

Whether you are hosting a Halloween party or you just want to make a fun treat for your family, these spider web brownies will be a hit.

You can start with your favorite brownie recipe or use a box of your favorite brownie mix. You can also make the frosting from scratch or pick up a can of frosting. You will heat the frosting to make it malleable, then put it in a baggy to pipe it on to the top of the brownie squares in a spiral. Drag a toothpick through the frosting to make the spider web.

How to Make Spider Web Brownies

This Makes 9 thick brownies. If you prefer thinner brownies, bake in a 9×13 baking dish for 22-25 minutes.

  • 1 box of brownie mix, any brand + box brownie ingredients
  • vanilla frosting

Items Needed:

  • small sandwich baggy
  • kitchen scissors
  • foil or parchment paper
  • toothpicks

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper or foil (if you using foil, spray with non-stick cooking spray).
  2. Combine the brownie mix and ingredients.
  3. Pour the brownie batter into the baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes.
  4. Insert a toothpick in the center of the brownies around 45 minutes, if it comes out clean the brownies are done.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  6. Once cool, cut the brownies into 9 squares.
  7. Scoop the frosting into a microwave-safe dish and heat for about 10 seconds.
  8. Fill the small sandwich baggy about 1/2 full with vanilla frosting.
  9. Use the kitchen scissors to snip one corner.
  10. Starting at the center of each brownie, gently squeeze the sandwich baggy and make a spiral with the frosting.
  11. Use the toothpicks to drag the frosting from the center to the outer edges of the brownie.
  12. Repeat with all the brownies.

Makes 9 brownies that are a little over 2 1/2 inches square.

*If you prefer thinner brownies, bake in a 9 x 9-inch pan for 30 to 35 minutes or a 9x13 baking dish for 28 to 31 minutes. Using a larger pan will increase the size or amount of your brownies.
